The humor thread (formerly Sunday funny)

In my unprofessional opinion, Taylor’s are great but Martins almost always have a more boomy low end.

Taylor’s are always sweet for recording while a Martin will do you better in an outside jam kind of setting.

I’ve heard a Martin from a distance and was like “dang that must be a Martin” plenty of times.
So far that’s never happened to me with a Taylor haha😂
Definitely not knocking Taylor though they are always extremely fun to play (and I’m a mandolin player😅) but I was raised loving Martins so I guess I’m kinda biased anyway lol

I would put my Eastman up against most new Martins…

I would put my new Martin up against ANYTHING.

I’d take a high end Eastman over a low end Martin for sure
@Michael_Mark You so need to play my Dad’s ‘99 D-42!:ok_hand:

I’d put any of my Martins up against my belly.

The problem with Taylor is that most of their guitars come with that crappy pickup in them. I think that takes away of the acoustic tone.

My DN3 is straight acoustic. No electronics. You can feel a G run in your chest. I just don’t understand why so many bluegrassers love to hate on Taylor.

I’ve played a lot of both guitars. As you may know the story, I was able to go to the Taylor factory and handpick a guitar that I thought would hang most with a Martin. It took me a long while to find, but I did. They do exist, and I believe you have one, too. But in general, there’s no comparison when you’re looking for that Martin “quality” because…duh, it’s not a Martin. Taylor is not trying to be a Martin except for a few dread models they put out. They’re their own thing and they do really good at it. It makes no sense to make fun of the company, really, because they’re not trying to do what folks think they are. It’d be like me making fun of Toyota because their truck can’t pull my 24’ gooseneck stock trailer as good as my Ford F-250. It’s a category confusion.

Hey @BanjoBen… Remember how you said you would match the price of any competitor? Well Walmart sells a bag of about 60 Blue Chips for $5.

Funny @Mason_Crone I think he should just sell a 1 pound bag so it may be less that a quantity of 60.

I want a party size Blue Chip!

The Small Boy had been banging on the drums all day, until his father had enough.
He gave the Small Boy a new pocket knife and said, “Why don’t you open them up and see where the noise comes from?”

Some Classic Corries Songs that will make you laugh if you understand Scottish Humour

@BanJoe, on a different note, I meant the joke right after my drummer boy joke only as funny and not serious. It can’t be funny anymore I’m afraid, given what happened recently if you know what I mean. :frowning:

Unfortunately, I have no idea what you mean. I don’t really keep up with things very well. It was just an old joke I heard when I was a child, so I thought I’d pass it along.
I still think it is a good idea to allow drummers to open their drums to see where the sound comes from.

I meant my joke about falling… If you click on my id on top right of YOUR post, it will take you there…

The roach is by far the scariest thing on that whole list, under any circumstances.
