Netgrass Collaboration #2

Larry that sounds good, probably the best yet, I’m impressed.

I agree - nice mix, good that the reso is back in and I like it for the intro. Good job all round Larry.
I guess we’ll never get a fiddle bit from doesntfiddlewood  - was hoping for one.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ve been tinkering with the mix a little this afternoon, but I believe everyone’s about ready for this project to be finished up. I’ll try to get some kind of final mix worked up, so we can move on to something new.

I vote for 4/4 time and fast!

Well since I picked “Rider” and NoFiddle was the “star” on “You’ll Wish” then I guess it’s up to You Larry, Mike, or Ozi…we’ll let you guys fight it out - I will plead the 5th again!

Your pick, I’m just along for the ride  Just as long as you blokes are happy to have me in.

 the name is fiddlewood not fiddleplay

I took out Phoephus and Oldhat’s guitars and replaced them with my kazoo and spoon solos so I could hog up all the breaks.

(Actually, it’s not much different from mix 14. I just incorporated a few suggestions)

Larry you done a great job with the mix man!

Well Larry and Mike know about it so I will mention it to the rest here and lurkers:

I have started another project on Kompoz which is totally out of the genre of bluegrass. This is a song I wrote years ago. Even though it’s not bluegrass I figured I might as well post a link to it here so that if any of you old “Rockers” or jazz guys want to add it to it then have at it. I have Lyrics posted under the “discussions” tab on Kompoz.

I guess I’d rather see musicians from here add to it if they want to vs. folks I’ve never communicated with so if you feel you can add something then have at it…I am also looking for someone to sing. I have had 2 folks contact me wanting to do vocals but i have yet to hear any. I have a vocal sample in the tracks also but have requested that someone else do them as I can’t sing much of this style anymore.

Here is the song with me playing acoustic and a guy from the UK throwing a rather “smooth funky bass” over it. If anyone is interested I will start another thread for this song/project on here.

I hate to be griping, but I think the kazoo needs to come up in the mix.

Around Christmas last year, a group I was playing with worked up a few Christmas songs to perform. We had a fiddle player absent from practice, and I filled in his parts with the kazoo. It actually carried pretty well with all the instruments there. The only real shortfall was I kept laughing and the thing would fall out of my mouth since my hands were on the guitar. Maybe I could modify one of those harmonica holders you wear around your neck.

We need to find a kazoo song to showcase your hidden talents, Mike.

Maybe Hendrix’s, Crosstown Traffic. :stuck_out_tongue:

I posted our song on our netgrass page. Go have a listen and propel us to the top of the charts!

bumped it up

Man, that sounds great guys! Love all the instruments in there. Good stuff.

What happened to the fiddle there Mr. fiddlewon’t?

Great job Larry. Onward and upward!

That’s a pretty good starting spot.

I know others had done it, so I put it on the wife’s facebook page. I think facebook might be the key to stardom.

I think you might be right. I’m not exactly sure how they calculate chart postition, but it usually takes a song two or three days to peak.

I’m not going to admit tot he # of times I’ve played or downloaded this song…

We’re stuck at #3 for the second day in a row.
