Favorite Lick or Run?

Here is another small run sort of a lick and a promise type of thing

Nice lick Welder! You could build a whole song around that.
In case some is having trouble figuring out “little lick.mp3”, I think he is playing with a capo on 2, making the G shape lick sound like A in the recording.

That was played out of the normal E chord wide open chord and I will try and tab it out for you if you can make an entire tune out of that yes I think it could be done easily . I usually play second fret A in a G position a lot but this time it was an E chord.

I can never get the program to sound human but you can take it and do what you will with it it is an easy one to do . I might ad this is sort of like a cross picking and the two high e notes should be played down up storke to get the two notes to be a tad faster that the previous notes or the starting notes , It augments the two open E notes with a B going down to an A note the tab is correct but when you play it just put some of you in it to make it nice and good sounding , LOL I should take that advice on to muy sef.

You could go to an A7th and use the B7th to make a complete tune

storke oops I should proof read my posts LOL

You have to watch those down storkes they will get you every time .

OOps I see you were talking about little lick so sorry and you are right it is capoed on the second fret and played out of the G position . right on Mike good ear brother .

Yeah, it’s hard to stump Mike.

I just misread it that I do alot ,

This from an old tune that Watson did . it is called nothing to it but I do like this lick .

I am not up to snuff on writing but you can smooth it out when you play it

an interesting version of Black mountain rag on Flat picker hang out go get it it might keep you busy for awhile .

flatpickerhangout.com/w/tab/ … letter/v/B this should take you to the tabs and it will be the 2nd one down the list the one with all the writing on it

Josh Williams whole second solo on this tune is awesome. I really like the part from 3:21 - 3:25 or to the end at 3:30. Lots of good stuff in there.

Nice pickin’ from all three fellows. I’m going to make it to Grey Fox one of these days.

Nice picking indeed. I really like the tone of Tony Watt’s guitar.

Real nice! “How do you like it so far?” LOL I am going to use that one

This is a lick I learned from the mayor of St Charles VA back in the late sixtiies or early seventies. let me know what you think

Welder, you are high tech now! Thanks for making the tab for it.

I kept getting the notes back ward LOL but finally got it, it may not be as smooth as it really sounds when played on the guitar but it is very close.

I like that lick, welder. It would be good for a turnaround at the end of a verse.

For what it’s worth, I don’t worry too much about trying to make my tef files sound great either. I figure it’s just a tool to help me learn. I’m not listening to it for pleasure. As long as the notes and the timing are right, that’s good enough.

I could of just sent an MP3 but you then would have to figure it out and that takes up time. I think the end lick was used in a lot country tear jerkers back in the day and is still used much today. I am glad someone miight use it .
