Greg, I’ve been a mechanical engineer, or an engineering manager for most of my career. Touched on a few different areas through the years, but the vast majority has been in design and manufacture of cotton ginning machinery for use in the US, and all over the world. Not a high profile or high dollar career, but it’s kept food on the table and a roof over our heads. I fell into it almost accidentally, fell in love with it, and it’s been a blessing.

I’ve been a teacher and later moved into training development for oil & gas. 19 years in teaching and 17 years at GE Oil & Gas then Baker Hughes. Right now I develop the training for condition monitoring software for machines and it’s not really limited to Oil & Gas.
I grew up in East Texas and back then there were a lot of cotton fields and I think we had two cotton gins in my hometown. It all seems to be gone now.
