Praying for ya David! @Buckeye, Hope your hands heal quickly! Ive got carpal in both wrists as well, with no feeling in 3 fingertips on left hand, and tingly intermittent no feeling on the 3 fingers on right hand - my pain is nowhere near the level you have, so I can only imagine what you’re going thru! Hang in there, and plz keep “us” updated! We’re all pulling for ya!!!
What are y'all up to?
Joining in prayer for a quick and complete recovery. I have a friend who plays for a living who had the procedure and his went really well.
So sorry to hear this, @Buckeye. Also sorry to hear of your struggles, @Simone. You’ll both be in our prayers for healing and comfort. Hope to get a chance to play music once again with each of you in the future.
Announced our first spring festival lineup today! Hope some of you can make it. https://headinhomefest.com
Heading out for Tapachula, Mexico, this weekend! I’ll be down there for 9 days preaching and teaching. I won’t be able to monitor the forum during that time, so thank y’all for holding down the fort. Love y’all and thankful for all of you.
Blessings for a great trip! May the language of your heart be easily spoke while you are there.
First night of teaching went well! I have 2 more lectures tonight, and teaching each night for rest of the week. I’ll be preaching in 2 different churches, one Friday night, and one Sunday morning.
The morale and overall health of the team is great! I have some salsa-induced instabilities, but nothing unexpected…and totally worth it
Here is the team & our Mexican counterparts enjoying some legit quesadillas last night after the teaching sessions. These compare in no way to any quesadilla you’ve had north of the border, lol. Thank y’all for your continued prayers!

That is a beautiful place to play! I dig that someone is using a tonedexter (big red footpedal near the banjo). I use one and have only personally ran into one other person that used one.
The Tone Dexter is amazing for my Huber banjo. I just have a piezo strip taped on the inside of the head. That pedal makes it sound really natural.
I am good friends with the Last Hour Bluegrass group. They are great and a good group of guys! My cousin is actually the bass player.
Well I stepped way out of my comfort zone. I did an open mic night at a local coffee shop. I sang an original song and was only accompanied by my mandolin. I’ve played and sang at jams but this was just me in front of folks. I went pretty good for a first time (I didn’t pass out or forget the words) but my right hand really got never strumming but kept pretty close to good time. I will be back next month to try improve.
Counting the seconds until I can get home and fire up the smoker and Strum Machine!
Oh that is great! We’ve never met any of them. But I’m excited about them - we always find an all gospel group for our festivals.
That’s great. Looks like a great lineup! Anywhere Kenny Smith is it will be great!
