Praying
What are y'all up to?
I wish I saw Bens post sooner. I know Grand Cayman well. My wife used to visit for a week long business conference every Autumn. Of course I couldn’t let her carry her suitcase by herself so I convinced her to hire a baggage handler.
It’s insanely expensive, but everything including meals were mostly covered. When I had to pull out my wallet I went cheap. Chicken-Chicken was a great lunch place. The Sunshine Grille was great as well lunch or dinner. Avoid the Cruise docks. Cozy up to whoever is working the Caybrew bar after the tour and you can drink nicely for not too much money. For out of the way dinner we liked Papagallow.
Of course you have to do Stingray City but I can’t remember the charter we used.
For cheap snorkeling Cemetery Beach.
Hope I posted this in time.
Late edit: Crap, back Sunday, which is today. Ah well.
@WillCoop, it is in your hands. And you know the drill from the prayers thread to land you in a job?! God is gracious and long-suffering. My prayers for you to make that choice!
It seems that it is often that as one door closes, another is soon to open. Praying for a good transition for you!
I have been on the same contract for about 8 years. It ends this December. I have no idea what will happen, but I am oddly excited to see what it might be.
Thank you! Yes He will. He has never failed me yet. I will be praying for God’s blessings to be poured out on you!
Thanks man! It’s all good! We only had a few meals so we did a couple special things. We went to West Bay and had a beautiful supper at the Cracked Conch, also some outstanding Mahi Mahi at Heritage Kitchen, which felt mighty authentic. We tried a charter out to Sting Ray City. We arrived and a huge storm blew in and the captain elected to go back. They gave us a Caybrew to help our sour faces and I was impressed, mighty tasty! I’ll forever kick myself for this, but I was not able to do any diving! Because I flew in Friday and back out Sunday, my safe diving window was only a few hours Saturday morning and I couldn’t make it happen with the dive shop. All they had was 2-tank dives and I’m not qualified for those…yet. I was disappointed to see that at the Cracked Conch, you could simply rent a tank at the restaurant and wade in at the shore for a simple dive, so I’ll know that for next time. I plan to go back, especially since SWA flies there! The people were magnificent. Hannah and I rented a convertible and drove the entire island Friday, ended up at Rum Point and explored for some starfish at Starfish Point…that was pretty cool.
Glad you all had fun!
Amazing pics…
Thanks for sharing as it is fun to hear of others adventures!
Welp, I’m headed out to Idaho for an elk hunt with Wild Bill Dorsey…those of you who came to camp know exactly who I’m talking about, hahaha. It should be a good time! Service will be spotty but I’ll try to check in here and there.
I know you will have a great time and also bag an Elk. I have tasted Elk and Caribou… Very good!
Safe travels and please click a pic in Big Sky country… Idaho is a part of that being alongside Montana, right?
I was able to take a beautiful spike elk bull on day two. I’m off the mountain today to take some of the meat to a processor to grind into hamburger and freeze for the long 28 hour drive home. I have two friends that still need to fill their tags/freezers, so I’m back on the mountain tomorrow with them to help spot and call. These mountains are amazing! Here’s a pic of me hauling out one of the 75 pound hing quarters of the elk…the work really begins after you down an animal that huge miles from the nearest road.
Congrats @BanjoBen!
AMAZING PICTURE. It is nice to feel like we accompany you on your quest.
Mountain Country…
I know there are limits but THANK YOU for sharing some of these other aspects of your life with us.
Can’t get over just how happy you look… and your Aggies took care of business while you were gone too!
Drove ~100 mi up to a friends and bought a mandolin today. His Brother passed away recently and it is part of the estate. Bill was the original owner of my D-28 and this mandolin as well.
Built by Eugene McGhee in Oliver Springs Tenn.
Yesterday I was stuck at the library, so my friends and I did some jamming, and I helped one friend on their music theory(they are going to college for music). Today my family and I are going to Maine, now that everyone else is back in school.
Aren’t you supposed to be quiet in a library? Cool anyway
We were in the basment/storage room.
Well, today is my birthday! I’m not having a party till around the 20th though, cuz one of my little brothers’ birthday is the 29th so we have a combined party. I’m now seventeen, but I decided to keep telling people I’m sixteen until I either get a driver’s license or release an album (I want to catch Natalie Macmaster and Sierra Hull )
Happy Birthday Gunner!
