It’s hard to feel totally relaxed but it’s worth the effort in having to change your picking positions. Hey, you need to do it on the guitar anyway so why not the banjo too??
What are y'all up to?
I figured it’s something like that. I used to only get tense after playing fast or loud, now I can barely play anything without the pain. I’m supposed to play banjo for a few songs at the gig, though, so I’ll see how those go.
Don’t worry it’s EASY stuff @Mason_Crone, all I have to do is play some J.D. material.
I don’t feel tense on guitar…
Also I sort of DID change some aspects of my picking position, but to look more like Tony’s hand and not Jake’s. It’s a work in progress.
I wasn’t referring to tension…
Of course, the free floating closed fist doctrine.
Have you asked Ben at one of the camps?
Well I know who you take lessons with. It won’t be long
I didn’t, I didn’t give it too much thought until recently. I should have though.
He said resting my fingers was fine if it’s not tense…
Of course. There’s nothing wrong with that guitar position I’m just joking.
Is there like the Lindblom Ten Commandments or something?
- Thou shalt not rest thy fingers upon thine guitar.
Fixed it for you. You should know by now we didn’t make it up!
“Thou shalt have no other guitar players before Jake Workman”
Thou shalt not lie (Thou shalt not call Tony Rice the best)
Bro.
I take mandolin lessons with Jake not guitar lessons. And he’s amazing at both!
I know Suprised you didn’t list Jake as your favorite vocalist; I’ve heard him sing baritone before.
I didn’t list my favorite vocalists…
We aren’t just crazy about Jake like you are about Tony. We honestly think he’s the best like you don’t about Tony
Huh? Can you rephrase that
