When scaling from G to Em any good ideas or suggestions or exercises
Using Em in solo
On Guitar
Hey Jonathan. If I’m understanding your question, this is something I use a lot.
- Pick G note on 6 string, and strum G chord once.
- Pick F# note on 6 string and strum G chord once.
- Pick E note on 6 string and strum Em chord to complete the chord change.
If you like, I’ll make a quick video. Please let me know.
Hope that helped.

Yes making a video would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Treblemaker
The G major scale is the same as the E minor scale and you can play those notes over both chords (@Treblemaker is referring to walks for your rhythm playing, which use the same scale). You can target the notes of the Emin triad, as well (E, G, and B). I often think about vocabulary too, and learning a few Emin licks will help you out

Thanks
Hey Jonathan,
For what it’s worth, here’s a link to a G to EM walk. Sorry for the delay in getting it out.
That’s OK thanks
