It’s funny, but when I am in a group of Bluegrass pickers, I just don’t see that I’ve made much progress as a bluegrass picking guitar player. And sometimes that’s a little disheartening I won’t deny. But then there’s days like today when in our worship service, they called up a old school gospel, bluegrass type tune, and I was asked if I wouldn’t mind doing some picking over the introductory section and between verses …and I did and it turned out marvelous! At the end of the service I’m kind of like wow I HAVE made progress. One of those weird little things I noticed as a player. 70 years old and I’m still getting better. Isn’t that awesome? Mr. G Out.

That is awesome, thanks for sharing your experience. I think most of the time our progress is so slow that we don’t see it happening and it is easy to get frustrated or feel like we are stagnant. Then you watch an old video of yourself or have an experience like yours and realize how far you have actually come. It’s a great feeling. God bless!
