I like Number 2, and some days I think I’m really “developing style!”

Number 11 is something I’ve wondered about.
How can a songwriter write an honest, sad song without becoming a drunk or suicidal?

If you like Bluegrass, you probably like Americana and John Prine was Americana at it’s best. I’ve listened to his songs so many times my memories are worn.

I don’t do any song writing myself. I don’t really have a story to tell. I know that Tom T Hall was a great song writer and @BanjoBen 's sisters have written several songs. Maybe there are song writing courses online if your looking to get into it.
