Solo guitar arrangements

I love to play with other people. But lately I’ve been exploring playing songs solo - just me and my guitar. I would love a couple of things from this great community:

  1. Recording suggestions of solo arrangements for guitar. Normally when I ask this people give me recommendations for guitarists who do a solo album. It’s a little different - I want to listen to solo guitar arrangements
  2. I would love a how to lesson. There are several songs I’d like to work up - The Water is Wide, top of my list - and would love a sort of build-an-arrangement style lesson.

I’ve learned a lot of arrangements for songs like this. Usually I start by just getting on YouTube and searching an artist or song and just see what comes up. There’s so many live recordings out there or performances at radio stations, etc and I just keep looking till I find one I like then learn it. A lot of artists did Facebook live videos this past year which was just them with a guitar, etc.

Most of Tony’s Church Street Blues album is just him and his guitar, so definitely check these songs out: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m4C8QvHtLAyzPTYoDCzMdaH45B1TYDYsc

Travis Alltop has some great solo hymn arrangements like these:
