I have a three hour window before my next student… summer schedule… so what should I do? Take advantage of the time and practice. Practice what? How about some banjo ben guitar licks! And I’m really glad nobody’s listening to me right now. Except for Frank. Frank’s not saying anything. Be like Frank.

Careful @Mr_G we will soon have you converted to a banjo player 
then you’ll have to give up the guitar because you’ll be snowed under with banjo students.

It turns out that a family was hiding outside my lesson room door listening to me practice the banjo ben licks. The mother poked her head inside the door and spoke to me for a few minutes asking if I thought her 10-year-old son could take guitar lessons. I put my guitar in his hands and his hands were certainly big enough, and I said “sure! We can start next week!“ her son, very excited, said “I’m sitting out here and I’m listening to you play these country type licks, and I told mom I gotta have that!” So, Ben…Thank you. Your licks which I cannot play with a great degree of skill at the moment got me a student anyway. Mr G
