Spent the day at my sons house beginning to record on a project of four songs that I love from the 70s plus a favorite hymn of mine. The first song (which will remain a secret for the time being) had a place in it for guitar solo. I had in mind another player that would play the solo for me at a later time. Today just as a filler my son asked me if I would lay down a solo just to put something down. so I did. By the end of the solo break my son’s eyes were bugging out of his head. it was one of the best guitar solos I think I have ever pulled out of my … well… hat. I guess my time focusing on Bluegrass and flatpicking is really beginning to pay off. I am rarely happy with my own playing, but today was something special.
