I liked it relatively slow (I always wanted to go a little faster than the recording I listened to), but with heavier drive and but on the other hand I liked it pumped up in speed as well. Up tempo, it sounded a bit more generic. Hank did some songs brutally slow, which I think was a neat feature (Cold Cold Heart was sometimes just creeping). I think the slower speed with drive might be better if we can do enough to fill out the sound. The old recordings were pretty much Hank’s voice with some soft accompaniment. I was playing with doing it drop D with a D2 and such to make the sound richer. I dunno, there’s many ways we could go with it.
As far as engineering, I don’t mind doing it, but I typically won’t be as quick to turn things around as you have been. I keep expecting things to let up, but my year continues to be quite busy. Also, my tastes are probably a bit different than some, but you get what you pay for in my engineering Hugo does a nice job with it too, so if he wants to do it, then that’s great.
Oh, and I’ll charge double what Larry charges.
