Mandolin workshops

So, what mandolin workshops have you been to, and what did you like or dislike about them.
My favorite workshop was a couple of years ago that was at the http://WVfest.com. Anthony Hannigan was the host and he was great! If you haven’t heard him play, you should check him out:

My favorite part of the workshop was that the group of us, about 8, had a jam session where we went around the circle and we all took a coupe of turns playing lead. I haven’t had much experience doing this so if was fun to do it in such a “safe” atmosphere.

Never been to a workshop. Only played Mando for about 3 months. Though I am attending
my 1st Mando circle hopefully on June 2nd.

That sounds like fun! You’ll have to tell me how it goes.

This video posting by jiminkansas is an excellent resource for beginners and intermediates alike. Not what they are playing, but the way in which it is played “as a group” Circle jams can be alot of fun or a trainwreck. Pay close attention to how each player "hands off to the next, but yet Hannigan is leading the group throughout the arrangement. JMHO
