Looping She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain

Beginner Banjer player here. And I just learned BanjoBen’s She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain from his beginner section. My question is this:

When you get to the end of the melody and want to loop it to start a second verse, do you just start over or do you throw a lick in there instead of going through with the ending?

If you throw a lick in there, what kind of lick would you throw in?

Looking at the tef, it seems the most direct thing would be to combine the start of measure 17 with the end of measure 1.

There are certainly fancier ways to get there, but I’ll leave that to the smart fellers.

I been puttin’ a 1-5 open pinch in where that rest is.
