Hows my right and left hand technique?

I don’t talk here much but I was wondering if I could get some advice on left hand and right hand technique at high speeds and how they are in this video?

Wow, looking great Jaedren! Relaxed, smooth and great coordination between your hands. @BanjoBen is likely out for a bit, but I am sure he will have some thoughts and encouragement when he gets back.

What type of pick are you using? The reason I ask is that at a couple points it looks/sounds to me like it might have enough flex to be a limiting factor. That said, I am not playing BBlossom at 145 so I might be off on what I am hearing :+1:

Keep on keeping on!

thanks!
I’m using a JS signature toneslab. its a pretty thick pick, do you think it could be I have too loose a grip on the pick?

No, a loose grip is a good thing! If it isn’t flying out of there, I’d say you are good. It was probably just my ear/eyes.

Pick on!

oh, okay thanks!

Man, I can’t find a single thing wrong with that. If you’re doing anything wrong, you’re making it work for you. That’s some great picking!

Ben will have more constructive comments than me. Like Mike said, he’ll be back soon. Until then, keep doing what you’re doing!

Are you quoting a song?
I don’t usually play it this fast, I was pushing on my speed barrier there to exercice my hands because it can be hard to play Blackberry blossum at higher speeds. I had tried 150bpm but I totally crashed and failed

It’s great, man! I have no real critiques…you’re off to the races! The only thing I’m hearing is some muffled notes from lack of coordination b/t the hands, but that will absolutely improve as you get used to playing at faster speeds. Your left hand is just having to figure out how to work as fast as your right hand is…that’s a good thing.

okay thanks so much!

Yes, I’m quoting a song. The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)" by Simon & Garfunkel. I have no problem with you playing it fast. I would like to be able to play any song fast. It was just what came to my mind when I listened to your video. :cowboy_hat_face:

ah I see, cool

@JaedrenMM: for what it’s worth, I encourage you to keep at this song until you can do it at 150. That is 300 as I normally count, and that’s a pretty landmark number!
