Banjo Ben, I bought and watched your newest lesson, Getting Back to the Banjo. I put my Guitar down for over ten years (big mistake) and I am now taking refresher lessons on Bluegrass Guitar. He is actually teaching me to do the same thing-giving me “hammer-on”, “pull-off”, “stretching exercises”, learning rifts, licks that I can use, etc. (I now have a whole variety in my ‘little bag of tricks’ that I can start to place in my leads that I do now). I decided to buy it as a reminder that yes, I can come back to where I was-I just have to be patient and not try too hard, or too fast. I now have several tunes I am refining-Blackberry Blossom (yours), St. Ann’s Reel (Yours, very pretty version), Tony Rice’s Gold Rush, and Wildwood Flower-incorporating the rifts and licks in my “bag of tricks”, so to speak. I’ll be giving my first recital of these tunes in early December (He thinks I’m ready for it). He is very encouraging, and you are too. Thank you very much for your lesson.
