What are y’all listening to these days? Pick one song!

This new JMRR song “The Good Old Days” is so beautiful, it’s probably the greatest new song I’ve heard in a long time. I actually have been partially finished writing a song myself with almost these exact same lyrics for several years! But now I don’t have to finish it! :grinning: Seriously though, this new track by Joe Mullins is exactly the kind of music I like best. Pretty songs with a touching, inspiring message.

I get a real buzz every time I hear this tune, it takes me back to my teenage years and this arrangement by Steve Nicks and Chris Isaack is just awesome. Hope you come to enjoy it too. Libby.

Great seeing Heather Berry Mabe on this video I used to follow her on her YouTube Channel years ago she has a fantastic singing voice

Oh man, first off I love this kind of topic. Listening is probably my favorite aspect of music, above practicing and maybe even playing.

I know this isn’t the normal jam of most folks here, but this has got to be one of the most perfectly composed songs I’ve ever heard…
The “wall of sound” layered parts, the different sections that build on each other, the poetic/energizing/motivating lyrics with the theme of “carrying on”, and the borderline impossible vocals (the vocalist couldn’t even sing it well live). Like you mentioned, it just combines the musical elements I love to hear.

You all may burn me at the stake now

I don’t remember that one! Very nice. I do miss tv shows from the last century where odd combinations of musicians would perform together (and actually perform live). Now I’ll go have to catch the Beato interview.
I did feel for Jerry with the ever-falling-mic-stand. Like many before me, I have had that happen as well… he handled it with smile. Well done Jerry!

My latest song going on in my head is the Peterson’s “Far side banks of Jordan.” Think I might have to learn that one in a guy key.
