We are so tight I can’t put any money in or take any money out of my English bank account. You’ve guessed it I am having issues with my bank at the moment and I have just got off the phone - one hour with customer services. I look back with great nostalgia when you could walk into a bank and chat with the clerk, carry out your transaction and walk out the door. Life was so simpler then.
Yes flat picks are easy to loose - and blue chips - well you have to keep a watchful eye on them especially in case they should grow legs and walk

@Simone great reuse of the earbud pouch! I found these online last year and bought a couple. First off, I love leather and with the thin profile, it fits well in my pocket.

On a complete side note, Isn’t it funny how the USA has fought using the metric yet we have been using metric for film sizes for decades (9mm, 35mm). Plus we’ve been selling sode in 2 liter bottles since the 80’s.

The Scots are a canny lot and the world has a lot to be thankful to them for what the have done. America in particular. John Muir, Andrew Carnegie, Alexander Graham Bell, James Watt, John Loudon McAdam, John Boyd Dunlop, James Dewar, Thomas Telford, James Clerk Maxwell, Charles Rennie Macintosh, James Young I may have missed a few important ones but the list seems endless.

Oddly enough, the English still uses “miles” when referring to a long distance, and even “feet & yards.” Shorter distances get you centi- & milli- meters.
And they still drink pints, not milliliters of beer. Some many even drink “gallons.”
I still use miles inches feet and yards, pounds cwt & tons I am sitting drinking a pint of beer right now but I don’t think I’ll manage a gallon - at least not tonight. When I go to the garage to get petrol (gas to you guys) I buy it in litres all although at current costs it’s way more than I used to pay for a gallon of petrol. Shops no longer want to deal in cash and even the Ice Cream Cart asked for my bank card what is the world coming too… Life was so much simpler when I was a kid. A penny would buy a packet of sweets that would last all day. Nowadays you need a bank account to buy a coffee and a donut. Is it just me or are we being controlled by big brother business
I don’t know if we’re being controlled, but we are certainly being led down a path many would like to avoid.
But if you want the low price you must do it their way. If you want to do it your way, be prepared to pay more.
I think a lot of this began when we forgot “the customer is always right,” and we accepted the idea we were “consumers.” No longer an individual, a consumer is simply a resource for generating revenue.
I see this more an more each day and it seems no one cares about delivering good customer service, and when you try to explain it’s in their best interest to treat customers with respect they just don’t want to know. It’s all our fault for being a customer. They NEVER get it wrong. I wish I could go back to being a child when the man in the sweet shop treated me with respect and waited patently till I decided what sweets I wanted to buy.
Anyway that’s all the ranting I am going to do today. Time for some banjo
