April Cabin Camp 2022 Nashville

Hey folks! I am registered at the following hotel:
Hampton Inn & Suites Mt. Juliet
5001 Crossings Cir
Mount Juliet, TN 37122
615-553-5900

My son-in-law is coming with me to help with the driving from Atlanta. But he will most likely be going in to Nashville during the day to do stuff, and I might need a ride home from the day’s activities at Ben’s place. So if anyone gets a room at this hotel I might have need of an occasional ride to/from. Let me know!!!

This won’t be a problem, @Mr_G! Even the day of it’ll be easy to find a ride.

I have an AirBnB in the same town so I can run you back to the hotel as needed. This is my first camp and my first outing with my mandolin with anyone other than my late first ex father-in-law and my current music teacher. Am a tad nervous but greatly looking forward to it!

For sure, no reason to be nervous… I have been to one before, you will love it. I was apprehensive too, but I wouldn’t be going back if it wasn’t fun. See you there!

I will take you up on that offer! Thank you.

When it gets closer, we can exchange phone numbers.

Is it too early to pack for this event? I already have my music stand in the back of the Rav4? Okay, okay, maybe it’s there because I just bought it after my mandolin lesson yesterday…but it just might stay in there till driving day!

Me too, I’d love to go

Same. I’ve never been to a Cabin Camp yet, but hope to go someday.

So just curious, for those of you who have been before… Which location is the best?

They are different. As a camp venue, I like Texas better. But there’s something special about being in Nashville, and you get to see the studio, and there’s usually more “famous” musicians around.
I would say TX for property, TN for provenance.
But for you I would recommend Nashville because it is so much closer to you

I had never heard of Cabin Camp until I became a gold pick member and started poking around the site. After I watched some videos and got to see what it was all about I was at the store and signed up! I’m less anxious and more excited every day!

Thanks for the insight, Gunnar. I’m definitely hoping to go someday, but I know that I’ll probably only make it once maybe twice. Hopefully I’ll get to meet some of the other forum members when I do finally go.

I received the video welcome from Ben today…he sure is doing a good job of making everyone feel welcome, regardless of skill level. This camp is aimed at advanced beginner, low intermediate and I THINK I fit in there.

I think it’s interesting that some people go more than once. For the upcoming camp Ben said there are some returning guests. I’ll definitely think about going again based on my experience at the upcoming (my first) camp. Really looking forward to it!

I’m with you, my friend. This will be my first camp as well. I classify myself as an Intermediate player as well. You and I can sit together in any picking circle!
