Anybody down for another young picker collaboration?
Thanks! I assume you mean verse 1 and then verse 2? I’ve been using Libby’s guitar track as a reference, but I’m not sure if it is set up this way.
@Michael_Mark I think I’ve got the harmony part down pretty well so let me know when you get a scratch track, base track etc. ready to record with. But no rush these collaborations seem to stretch on endlessly anyways.
You can just sing to the guitar track, that should be fine
@oaklymaple I seem to remember the fiddle solo being right after the first chorus. If it wasn’t like that at first, I vote we do it like that anyway since that’s how it’s usually done.
Is @Luke_L still playing dobro? If not, I can redo the banjo solo to be right after the guitar solo a la Kentucky Thunder, and then just put the tag lick at the end.
Correct- bluegrass harmony typically only on the choruses.
Perfect thanks. That’s what I assumed, but sometimes people like being original😄
To be honest I have no idea, also I can’t really sing lead in B.
Yeah you can, all you need is the E flat which I’ve heard you hit easily. I think you’re just scared whenever someone mentions the key of B
It’s an F# I thought
F# is the tenor line, although Skaggs does sing the F# very briefly in the verse.
Yeah if I don’t sing the F# in the verse I can totally do it. Also it’s just an E, which is just about the top of my range especially during the winter when I have a sore throat every other week.I’ll just not sing the F# boom, we got this gang.
I heard Ben James sing an E5 in full voice the other day Our vocal skills are so pathetic
Maybe he’ll do this for us.
It probably wouldn’t be high enough for him.
coming from you…
Hey, at least I can speak.
Sorry I just have the most average male vocal range, very similar to Tony Rice.
Tony Rice could sing higher than the E.
