1937 Martin Archtop

I stopped in a bbq restaurant in Mt. Vernon , Texas to eat lunch and saw a guitar hanging on the wall. Right away i realized it was a Martin. Needless to say i left with it. Does anyone know what a 1937 R17 Martin archtop is worth? It’s not for sale, I’ve just never seen one like this.

Cool, how do you like it?

According to a very old Bluebook (1998), one in excellent shape was worth about $750 back then. I am not sure how much they have gone up since then. Here’s some specs: Arched mahogany top, mahogany back, sides and neck. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge (that would be brazillian!). They were made from 1934 to 1942.

Thanks for the reply. It don’t compare in sound to my HD28 , but it really stands out picking. It plays very well for an old wall hanger.
