Some things don’t go as planned. Drove halfway across the state to hear Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder tonight at a free church event. Got there around 6pm to a picture perfect event: several thousand people on lawn chairs, food trucks, bright sunshine. Halfway through the opening band this extremely severe thunderstorm blew up with high winds, lightning and thunder… police ordered everyone indoors and paused the show… a huge pine tree fell across several cars in the parking lot including smashing the sound crew’s box truck (thankfully nobody was hurt!)… finally after hours of waiting, the show was cancelled. Jake was so nice and jammed with us for a while to help us make the best of it. We’re still driving the 3+ hours home…
Worst Kentucky Thunder show ever!

There’s an old expression: “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans!”
