Words To Live By

G. K. Chesterton is one of my favorite authors. He had a knack of saying the right thing with few words, and a knack for seeing things the way they really are.
Here are three to give you a sample, then I’ll get to the kicker.

“Fallacies do not cease to be fallacies because they become fashions.”

“Jesus promised his disciples three things—that they would be completely fearless, absurdly happy, and in constant trouble.”

“Do not be so open-minded that your brains fall out.”

Today, Chesterton pretty well summed up my banjo playing -

“A man must love a thing very much if he not only practices it without any hope of fame or money, but even practices it without any hope of doing it well. Such a man must love the toils of the work more than any other man can love the rewards of it.”
