Wilson Hand Made
So in your humble opionion you think it’s fake …it looks great quality ?
Going for around 200 dollars in the Uk …do you think the wood and build look good at that price point …Thanks ever so much…Lee
I don’t think it is fake. I think it was made by another guy named Wilson. Looks like a charity that is selling it. Do some research on the charity, Send them an email through their website to confirm if it is a valid sale. £175 seems reasonable considering it’s condition.
NOTE It is NOT a 5 String Banjo
PS. Just checked their charity shop and it is on there ![]()
Yes, keep in mind it’s not a 5 string so it won’t work for bluegrass, unfortunately.
Thank you …and I’m a no ice so thought chords are easier on a 4 string …I assume …had a little play with a four string and limited but easier …how difficult would you say a 5 string to a 4 string is …for a novice …Hope I’m not taking up too much of your time …lol
It all depends on what type of music you want to play. Four string banjo’s are typically used for playing, Folk, Celtic, Jazz, Minstrel and Classic Parlour music where as the 5 String leans towards Bluegrass, Melodic, Single String, Celtic and perhaps Jazz.
Each instrument has it’s challenges. I’d say the four string banjo is easier to learn. But the 5 String is more fun, besides @BanjoBen doesn’t teach Four string. Although you could tune it like a mandolin and follow Ben’s Mandolin lessons.
Happy to help, that’s why we are here.
