Hi folks…I’m looking for some help/advice please. I need to know where to restart my banjo playing. I had a small stroke a few years ago which stopped me playing…but the desire to play again has hit me. New strings, banjo cleaned, picks polished and refitted…raring to go…but…where do I start? I got to a reasonable intermediate level but memory issues seemed to have more or less eradicated from my brain nearly everything I knew how to play. It seems I need to go back to basics but am a bit stumped where I start. Any help would be gratefully received…thank you in anticipation.
Where do I restart
Hi Elizabeth back to the fold. If I was in your position I would revisit the Beginners learning path and browse through the lessons. Most of what you know will come back to you and you’ll soon find yourself back in the saddle again. @BanjoBen has added a lot of new lessons to the site in the past 3 years many of these were added to the beginners learning path. I have been a member here for about 12 years and I’ll often find myself revisiting lessons from the beginner and intermediate sections.
Thank you so much Archie…I wasn’t aware there was a beginner path thingy. I’ll go check it out.
Hi Elizabeth, If you click on the Banjo menu a dropbox will appear and choose the level. You’ll then find a long list of lessons to choose from. Click on a lesson and go from there. If you have any problems give me a yell.
Honored to have you @colure2! Let me or the forum know if you have any questions. Yep, I have a beginner banjo learning track here: https://banjobenclark.com/university/beginner-banjo
University? I didn’t know it was a university! I guess there’s no football team, but I’ll bet it has a great band!
