What Banjo Ben videos to recommend

I often want to share a Banjo Ben instructional video to a friend after discussing how fun it is to be a Gold Pick Member and to show them how attainable it is to learn to play. What are your “go to” video’s that you share with folks? The last time I shared a video I nearly scared them off because it was way too advanced. I don’t want to make that mistake again.

It depends on the person.

If it’s someone who doesn’t play yet you might opt to show them the learning tracks, and explain how they teach the skills you need in the order you need them, and how those skills transfer into being able to play other more advanced pieces.

I recently shared the music theory videos with a new guitar player. Last night I shared the Dueling Bells guitar and banjo duet with my guitar friend. He’s more advanced and said “Wow!”

If there’s a song he’s looking to learn maybe there’s a video on there for it?

Hi Brent I always tell folks to sign up for the FREE Silver Membership that way they can review all the intro’s, see how the lessons are structured Beg, Int, Adv, and can choose three lessons of their choosing to unlock.

No other platform on the web gives you that much access prior to signing up to full membership.

As Dave Long say’s a lot depends on what someone’s skill level is, if you suggest a lesson above their skill level then you run the risk of scaring them off, Just be honest tell them it’s a structured learning path from beginner thru advance, where they can work through the program at their own pace without any pressure, that lessons are entertaining, fun to learn and there is a real sense of accomplishment as your skills develop.

@Brent.H, I believe Ben offers free lesson videos with tab (some of the best), no sign in required. You can ask them to check first them out. Maybe then they can sign in for free trial to check out lessons based on their skill level. That’s how I tried Ben’s site.
