Holy smokes, that Argentina finish just now over Egypt…
What are y'all up to?
On our way to Conway, MO for the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival this weekend. Anybody be there?
A Scottish friend was asked once how he could have liked the movie “Braveheart” when there was so much violence in it? His response was “It’s hardly violence when Scots are killin’ English!”
Late to the party here. How’d it go? What did you use for resources in teaching? I’m teaching Christology in Villahermosa, Mexico in November.
Went well! We had some theological differences but everyone was kind. I work with a ministry called IBAC that has their own curriculum: https://www.ibacministry.org/
I’ll be due south of you in November on the Mexico/Guatemala border in November doing a New Testament survey. Good stuff!
“Devils in Skirts” is a famous historical epithet for Scottish Highland regiments. The moniker allegedly originated during the World Wars from German soldiers who were intimidated by their fierce battlefield tenacity. Some might say the Germans got wind of what the Jocks wore under the kilt I think they feared that most.
Nice!
Hello everyone, Please join me in Filter of Hope’s mission trip to Panama. The trip will be from Saturday September 19th through Friday September 25. I will be part of a team that will have the privilege of presenting, free of charge, a filter that purifies the water but also allows us to present the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. You can help support this trip most importantly by prayer. If you are led by the Lord, you can help defer the cost with your donation. You can use the link for online donations.
Thank you.
Mourning the loss of my Doberman, Brandi who passed away this morning surrounded by my wife, girls and me. She just turned 6 in June. She loved people, eating, and chasing balls. She ran the perimeter of my property each night on guard duty, and kept predators away from the chickens. She endured countless hours of my banjo practice right by my side. We were blessed to have her, and I pray the Lord sees fit to let me see her again some day.
So sorry for your loss. Sounds like she was a good girl. May I ask what took her at such a young age
Thanks Mark. Its a bit of a mystery. She had come down a few months ago with an autoimmune issue, and had been seemingly recovering, but I think she had a number of things underlying that the vet did not detect. The breed is known for having heart issues, and I believe that’s what took her. Her time was short but she was a great friend to me.
I am sorry for your loss. I do think you will see her again.
I haven’t made any music or vids lately, but figured y’all would enjoy this. My buddy Kevin can really sing and just bought an Audigo mic. I need to record more with him soon!
Very nice! Great job on those harmonies, too.
We are heading over to the Farmers Branch Bluegrass festival over in DFW. Anyone else going to that festival this weekend. This will be my first indoor festival so I’m bringing my mandolin and fiddle (I have not play much fiddle in a while but Michael Cleveland and Jason Carter are going a fiddle workshop)
@Stuart.Gamble I will be there. I will Private Message you. I went last year… Its a fun weekend!
