What are y'all up to?

I remember seeing a VDB in a coin shop in Galveston, TX years ago and wishing I would have bought it then.

Congrats on adding to your set. What do you have left to complete it?

I’ve arrived ladies and gentlemen. I get to accompany a grade school chorus on a Kermit the Frog banjo song during their advancement ceremony!

Congratulations!

Why are there so many songs about rainbows?

That’s the one!

Kermit the frog and that snowman from Rudolph the Red nose rein deer are two of my favorite pickers! Although I think they both pick the four string banjo. :joy:

I think it’s because they are beautiful, brief, non-threatening, and create a natural sense of wonder. It’s a symbol of a promise from God.

Vacation Bible School this week! 80+ kids having a great time all over the church learning about Jesus and memorizing the 23rd Psalm. It’s organized chaos.

Two prayers: that Jesus is lifted up and SERENITY NOW!

Joining you/y’all in prayer.
I love the NIV translation of verse 1: “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” There is much serenity to be found in those words.

In a crazy time right now, could use your prayers as you think about it. I’m preparing to go to El Salvador in a week to teach a theology class to a group of pastors there. It’s all in Spanish, a big challenge but I’m loving it. After I get back I’m prepping to head into shoulder surgery to repair this rotator cuff. We’re in planting/growing season and working cows, so with all going on, it’s crazy round here. God’s grace is sufficient, and thankful for your prayers. Love y’all.

Also, a HUGE shoutout to @Michael_Mark, my right hand man (about to literally be just that) whose diligent work is allowing me to get all this done. Thank you, brother.

Watching the Scotland vs Haiti game Live from Boston Stadium. Final Score Scotland 1 Haiti 0

It’s just taken us 36 years to reach this point, little wonder the whole of Scotland and Scot’s around the world are singing this anthem today. Boston is Buzzing as Scot’s fans head to the Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers game you can be sure this Base Ball game will be like no other the US has witnessed.

We ALL have a little Scot’s and Irish blood in our veins @BanjoBen just dig into your past and it may surprise you to find a connection. Appalachia, Texas and the east coast of the US are all locations where Scot’s have settled over the years. YouTube is awash with videos of Scot’s celebrating and you can be sure the Tartan Army will leave it’s mark on Americans and America culture. We really need some joyfulness in the world right now.

Watching the Scots takeover Fenway Park was awesome to see. Baseball tickets would be sold out every time if each game was like that. I saw another viral clip with Scots singing Take Me Home Country Road in a local pub. Again, it was awesome.

And to think they are going to do it all again on Friday. Boston has been very welcoming but I am hearing that they have quadrupled the rail fares which I think is unforgivable on the part of the rail network. @Brent.H Those folks attending these games are not rich and working from a tight budget.

Contemplating. Its mowing day after work today and I’m really considering buying a small herd of goats to manage my field. 5 acres ~ 2.5 hours + fuel vs goats do all the work, I save $ on fuel, and potentially gain back additional practice time. The logic seems flawless to me.
