Y’all should have come and visited us while you were nearby… Although, admittedly my licks aren’t as interesting as the J-named folks’.
What are y'all up to?
You should have come over!! People were coming at night just to jam.
THERE’S ANOTHER ONE!
Those guys are good guitar players. Very inspiring.
One of my favorite pickers playing this same song:
I finally finished my last test!!! I’ve had my high school work finished for a while now, but I took my final Bible College test this morning, so now I’m completely done!
Fantastic! Those are days in my life I have distinct memories of. Walking out of High School graduation and walking out of my last college class. Even though they were more than 40 years ago. Enjoy it @CBoling !!
Oh cool. Where was it? I might’ve come if I knew they were doing that.
Brevard music center in Brevard NC.
Installed a New “Spring Reverb Tank” into my Fender “Frontman” amp. Plan to practice Banjo but of course I need to test it with some old surf tunes picking. The notes sound lonely, , compared to my banjo practice anyways. Greetings from the Gulf Coast Ya’ll. 92 degress and slicing the humidity with a knife.
I’m loaded down with instruments & cameras headed to the General Store this morning. We’ve got a couple days of content to record, like instrument demos & tech tips. I’m also excited to host Emmett Franz, the dobro player for The Petersens. He’s coming to record demos of all our reso guitars, and we’ll try to collaborate some as well.
I won’t be on the forum much the rest of the week–y’all keep it civil and turn the lights out before you go to bed.
Looking forward to hearing Emmett—big fan of him and the Petersens.
I wasn’t familiar with Emmet the first time I saw them. He’s very gifted. I saw him talking with folks after the show and he seems like a great guy as well.
My wife and I are with Christ in Action in St. Louis Missouri helping with tree and debris removal. We’ll return home this Saturday. Pray for the people who had there homes destroyed by the mile wide, 20 mile long tornado.
Well this weekend my wife has convinced me to take her to see some up and coming band named Def Leppard. I don’t think I will hear any mandolins or banjos (I have a feeling the last time Def Leppard had a banjo on stage @BanjoBen was involved). It should be back a few 80’svrock memories though.
Very cool! Super nice guys, still killing it.
That’s a pricey ticket!!! Have a great time!
It was my wife’s birthday gift. Her birthday was over 6 months ago (new years day). I’m not great at timing gifts but we are going enjoy our weekend.
Headed to Red Wing Roots Bluegrass festival today in Staunton, VA area. Gonna see Bill Evans, and I think his wife Babi will join him. She’s a fantastic banjo player in her own right (check out The Noisy Water Band). Should be a beautiful day for it, although we’ll have some good 'ol Virginia humidity.
I’ll release this one sometime next week but wanted to give y’all a sneak peek
