@Timothy_L mashing with Billy Strings, Bryan Sutton, Jake Workman, & Michael Daves
What are y'all up to?
Man! One banjo amongst a sea of guitars? That’s about as close to heaven on earth as you get. Outstanding job!
Thank you @BanjoBen @Mark_Rocka and @Archie!
Definitely one of the best jams I’ve gotten into! There weren’t many banjo players at the guitar camp so I got into some pretty good jams
Great experience for you @Timothy_L Also it gets you better known in the bluegrass community when there are fewer banjo players to compete with in a jam circle.
I am so excited for my grandson & his gf. They are heading to NC Camp America as Camp Councillors today. They plan to stay on after the camp and do some traveling in the US before heading back to Scotland. Just wondering if there are any live bluegrass sessions at Earl Scruggs Center in Shelby - If so best times and days, they are hoping to visit during downtime at the camp
There is a big bluegrass festival starting tomorrow through Sunday in Cherokee NC at the Happy Holiday RV village about 2hr from Shelby if they want to check that out. Luke and Lucy and I have been here since yesterday setting up the sound equipment. Looks like it’s going to be a great festival!
Thanks @Timothy_L that’s probably a bit too soon. They will be arriving in NC later today and will want to settle in at the camp for a few day’s getting their bearings and bonding with other staff
Skaggs & the boys are playing in Stephenville, Texas, tomorrow and I have in my possession an outstanding 1924 Gibson Loar mando. Hannah and I are flying over tomorrow afternoon to let Ricky see and pick on the mando. I probably won’t stay for the show since I already know all the licks they’re gonna play.
Honestly, show doesn’t start till 8:15 and I’m not a fan of flying in the dark when I don’t have to.
But we’ll have supper with Ricky & Sharon and talk mandos for a while, excited about that.
That. Is. Awesome. So cool you get to have that fellowship with them. Tell 'em Brent says hey. I was the guy in Row H, seat 106, in Hopewell, VA, back April.
He remembered you! Said to keep pickin’.
“Old, rare mandolin treasured by pickers across the globe. For sale at the right price.”
“Did I mention Ricky Skaggs played it?”
Price increases 25%.
Seriously, though, that is super cool!
Are those ostrich boots? It looks like he’s got puma shoes.
But where was Jake?
I came to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to find 1 particular star. Took a while, but we finally found it.
You’re not gonna believe this, a buddy of mine is vacationing out there and just sent that to me a couple hours ago. Man, this life sometimes…weird.
