Driving 100 miles tomorrow to meet my sister and dad for lunch. They are coming from the opposite direction 90 miles. My sister lives in AK and makes it down about once a year. Though with my mom passing in April she was down for a week i got to be with her then. So just a quick day visit tomorrow. And she turns 60 tomorrow! Needless to say she is the older sister! I wont admit to how much!

Had my yearly physical this am…Doc wants to set me up for a lung screening, I said OK, then she asks “If you have lung cancer would you like to have surgery?” I’m like “What? How should I know?”…thought she might be jumping the gun a bit…

Yeah, that seems a bit premature. Did she give any explanation?

No.
It seemed like a really strange question that did a lot to further undermine any dwindling confidence I had in the post Nixon for-profit/insurance driven health system we have today.

We have been on vacation this week. For various reasons, we have stayed around here and done day trips. Today was the “long” trip… down to Burnet, TX. We spent the day getting hauled up Spider Mountain on a lift and riding our bikes down trails. Crazy fun, no broken bones, a good day!

Been kinda down this week…snowed on top of the leaves before I could get them up, haven’t felt like playing much, lots of stupid Dr. stuff going on.

Caught a few minutes of Billy Strings streaming tonight…I felt like a dog watching a TV…couple minutes was more than enough for me, but more power to him for doing his own thing and making it work.

That’s an excellent write up, Gunnar.  j/k. so wonder how much practice went into this blog write up??

Absolutely none. When I’m writing a blog post I start with a general thought and then see what happens as I type. It helps me process my thoughts, and hopefully provokes some thoughts in the reader

Well, cuz my dad’s knee is injured he’s not driving, which means I’m the chauffeur right now. I don’t really like driving around town, it’s rather crowded so I have to be super careful not to hit anyone, and I’m not licensed, so it’s big trouble if I do hit anything. And it takes time away from other things I want to do.
Last year around this time I arranged what child is this and romanza for octave mandolin/tenor guitar, on my brother’s baritone ukulele, so I’m now adapting it to mandolin. It makes my hand sore just thinking about it

That’s an interesting situation.

My new banjo arrived last week, I haven’t posted about it yet, I’ve been busy, but I’ll post a video soon. One thing I would like to say is when you buy a new banjo, buy strings with it, cuz while my banjo was sounded amazingly good, the strings were really hard to slide and hammer-on.

I read the story of your dad’s injury…crazy stuff! Praying for y’all.

Made the trip about an hour ride North to pick up my guitar from my luthier buddy today.

Had the bridge glued back down…I’d forgotten how nicely it played…started lifting about a year ago & I haven’t played it much at all since then…it’s good to have it back in working order.
