Ouch!
What are y'all up to?
Indeed ouch haha. I haven’t been stung by a bee since I was like 3, so I didn’t remember what it feels like. It hurt way worse than I would’ve thought.
Yesterday I was able to take the COOLEST flight in my flying career. A camper’s dad has a Cirrus SR-22 and took me around Montana. Flew Glacier park into Canada, then south following the Continental Divide down Butte to Dillon MT for lunch, then tracked Lewis/Clark trail back up. That guy that took me flying is a history guru, knew every mountain range, Indian battle, etc.
That’s snow!!! This is August!!!
What a great setting! Did you like the SR-22? I thought it was remarkably intuitive/easy to fly.
Here’s a shot of Grinnell Glacier, man…we hiked 13 miles in the day before to see it AGL.
Yeah, I really dug it, of course. We did some really high flying. It wasn’t turbo but handled everything super well.
That’s breath taking, On a clear day you can see forever.
The landscape is so cool! Looks like a blast.
Cool view from just below the clouds!
How cold was it there? Looks beautiful!!
We’re right on the cusp of season change so high 40’s at night and around 90 during some days…quite a swing.
Just listened to “Its Almost Over”. Great song. I’m just guessing, but I think I hear a lot of Ricky Skaggs in your singing style.
Glad you liked that song!
My brother wrote that one
Thanks!
I love Ricky Skaggs’ singing so that’s a huge compliment!!
I’m currently crashing at the immensely hospitable and eternally beautiful ranch of @Rich in Sheridan, Wyoming! Charlie Belle and I are on the way back to TN from Montana and this is a perfect place to rest the eyelids.
I hope Charlie Belle is keeping a diary of her amazing childhood and will write her memoirs. She’s getting the best education with her great parents to lead
I just got a couple of tickets to see the Bela Fleck “My Bluegrass Heart” show in Oxford, Mississippi in December. The scheduled lineup is:
Bela Fleck - Banjo
Sierra Hull - Mandolin
Justin Moses - Dobro (and probably banjo+fiddle)
Bryan Sutton - Guitar
Michael Cleveland - Fiddle
Mark Schatz - Bass
I just stumbled across this show looking at Sierra Hull’s schedule. I think I broke out in a sweat when I saw saw the listing. The show is a an old theater in which the inside has been renovated to a modern event hall. No seats, it’s a general admission standing event so I’m probably getting in line early so I can get right up front. I’ve been to the theater one time (January 2020) to see Billy Strings.
It’s really hard to express to anyone around why i’m excited as most people around me don’t really know the Sierra Hull’s and Bryan Sutton’s. I start to explain it then just stop because I could go on for an hour.
Sweeeeeet!!!
Oh wow!!
I grew up 30 minutes from Oxford, MS. I wanna go😅
Well, I live 4.5 hours from Oxford but when you live in NE Louisiana that is close for a bluegrass show.
That’s my favorite lineup for that band, hope you have a great time!
