What are y'all up to?

The last. Two weeks have been crazy!! People getting so crazy about the unknown!! Thankful I am in a rural area, couldnt imagine the hysteria in a populated area. If only people would take influenza as seriously as this covid!!

Yes, these are interesting times. The big mystery to me is why did the entire population decide it was the perfect time to hoard toilet paper? Really? I don’t want to belittle the virus or the pain felt by those more directly impacted by it. However, the reaction of people scares me more than the virus itself. Hopefully, the numbers will trend towards better quickly.

Anyone got a few spare sheets of toilet paper? Rapidly running out over here. Why all the panic buying ?

I think I know why the media keep reminding us to wash our hands. Can you guess?

I don’t understand the toilet paper craze. I mean it’s not like this virus gives you the runs. :joy:

Yeah…Really!!! My exact words! They’re worried about toilet paper!.. Well, if they run out of food, they won’t need the toilet paper!

Actually I heard somewhere, that a rumor was out, that the factory in China that makes the packaging for toilet paper was shutting down… believe it or not! I guess folks overeacted (as always) and thought there wouldn’t be any toilet paper being manufactered at all and none would be available world wide. Who knows!

Sorry if that first sentence paints a bad picture!

Is this a poor musician’s recording studio? That would make great padding and buffering to make excellent quality recordings! Just don’t flush when the “recording” light is on!

Just checked today where I buy groceries and sure the whole toilet paper, tissue etc aisle was empty!

Archie’s pic sounds like a stock for end of ages for 1 person!

All that TP went somewhere. I do hope that folks that bought it don’t start trying to make a profit. It would get ugly…

Sheetrock guy
Cabinet installers
Countertop template guys
And MORE…

Question: is it wrong that I’ve told none of these that the camp has been postponed? :wink:

You know… I suspect they might be happy to have the work. It seems that work could be tougher to find for a few weeks.

Yep, I think so too. We’re in a unique situation here because of all the tornado damage creating amazing, unsatisfiable demand for laborers, then the quarantine that is quashing it.

Maybe time for another sneak peek of the building project @BanjoBen, With so much negative news going on right now things are becoming quite depressing over this side of the big pond. Over the weekend we are now being told that over 70s are to be confined to quarters for several months. Just as well I have this website to keep my sanity intact.

Nah. They don’t need to know

@BanjoBen,

Not in the least… as postponement means the work must be done anyway, right?

Now, if the payment for their services is postponed… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

In July, 2020…
Builder: Mr. Clark, I want to talk to you about your 90-day overdue account…
@BanjoBen: Is it July already? Did you know that I ended up having to postpone that event?
Builder: Why didn’t you tell us?
@BanjoBen: I am telling you.
Builder: We rearranged our schedule, passed on other customers to fit your work in back in March?
@BanjoBen: …and I want to tell you just how much I appreciate that!

:joy::joy::joy::joy:

Oh @BanjoBen, apparently, we can’t use that Q word any longer now… It’s Social Distancing, so y’all get with the program, or else… well, I don’t know what but something. Someone’s feelings might get hurt. Just sayin’ :roll_eyes:

Had an awesome time Christmas afternoon/evening.

Couple younger friends/ex-band-mates who went on to bigger-time musical things came over to pick & sing with this oldster.

We jammed for about 5-6 hours amidst my ribbing them about their charity work, slumming, visiting with the shut-ins, etc. Had fun calling up people we all knew and playing little swing versions of Chistmas songs for them :rofl:

Isaac played for fiddle for Marty Raybon a couple years so I didn’t need to get out the fiddle…I switched off on mando & guitar with Luke, who held a spot playing with Biscuit Davis for a while at some place Dolly P. owned.

Sure was a good time to pick something live with real people again.

Oh fun!

A friend of ours are and former peace corps volunteer came over a few days ago, because she’s an Irish fiddler. I hadn’t known that before.
She was back in the country after spending the last several months in Ireland working on her fiddling. So we fiddled together for a couple hours, I danced some, it was really fun!

Now we’ve been traveling for a few days. We’re waiting in the capital for our covid test results before we can get into south Africa
