I’ve been trying to find this for a long time. I saw it several years ago & found it enthralling. Tony Trishka is the music director, Rosanne Cash does the introduction, Steve Martin does the narration and it stars The Banjo!
Nerd Alert: This goes deep into the twisted history of the banjo!

I helped fund the project and received a DVD and a signed photo of the organiser, Marc Fields, Tony Trischka and Earl Scruggs alas Earls signature was not included.
