Trying to climb the ladder!

Hey ya’ll! Hope everyone has had a great week so far.

I want to learn more up-neck backup/lead. But I don’t know where to start, I know how to vamp and roll up the neck, But I need more. (Banjo Ben’s lesson on waypoints may be a good start.)

Ya’ll have any lesson suggestions? Or anything else that would be helpful?

God bless,
Chicken Wing. :chicken:

Waypoints is a fantastic place to start! I also think Descending Pentatonic Backup Licks, Boogie Woogie Backup, Bag o’ Licks- Up the Neck, Teardrop Banjo Backup, and Fretboard Geography will be helpful for you.

Hi @Chicken_Wing Chris, @BanjoBen has a lot of lessons on up-the-neck back up and solos. Mostly in the Intermediate and Advanced sections. The Waypoints and Geography lessons help map out the locations of chord positions on the neck. But Ben has more detailed lessons on Rolling BackUp and Solos

Much depends on your current skill level

A quick search revealed the follow but I am pretty sure there are lots more. I nagged him for years to add lessons on rolling backup and when he did he discovered these were some of the most popular lessons he had created.
