I’m currently learning on a KM-150, which I’m very happy with. Given that the Northfield Calhoun is flattop vis a carved top, would it count as a modest upgrade, or a step backward? It sounds surprisingly full and loud.

It would definitely be a tone upgrade, but it’s a different shape/feel than bluegrass mandos. I vote that you go more the traditional route, myself.
