I may or may not have a fan of the General Store in the White House, and they may or may not have told President Trump about my business. Regardless of politics, this is pretty cool of DJT.

That IS cool, regardless of politics, for the sentiment expressed is accurate. It takes grit, determination, courage & faith to put it all on the line to build a business.
My career experience makes me think the Congressional representative for the store’s district got wind of it and passed the request on to the White House. Congressional members are usually pretty good at knowing who is doing what (and paying taxes!) in their district.

Congratulations @BanjoBen and the guy’s at the General Store on receiving well deserved recognition for your life achievements from POTUS. As a foreign nation residing in the UK I have my own views about the political situation in the US right now. I am mindful of any political undertones this may raise. Folks should realise this award is not about DJT. It’s ALL about Ben. Well deserved my friend.

The letter is so cool. Since it carries President’s signature, I would assume he must have learnt about you, at least briefly before a signature was put on.
I wish you have a fan in the White House, Ben! You might though! When you find out, please let me know, so I can get the President’s attention. Btw WH office can’t easily forget me from the letter I sent last month. I promptly received a response from the office in some 10 days, and possibly some action.

To let the secret out, I do have a friend in the White House. They bought a guitar from me and told the President about it and my store. He was kind enough to have this written and and he signed it. I’m thankful for it even though I’m being crucified on facebook, hahaha.

Funny thing about people who “take their politics seriously.” Seems to me they can go on for hours about Red vs Blue & tell you why so-and-so in Washington is a bum, but they cannot name two people on their city council or school board.
I wish they would follow John Prine’s advice and “blow up your TV. Eat a lot of peaches.”

That’s so awesome, Ben! Thanks for letting it out! Some of those may stop crucifying you if they come to know my story to see why DJT is doing what he is doing. Or they may not. 
I will draft my story and will then talk to you. I don’t know how to write though yet. If I don’t write it soon enough, maybe God will keep him in the office.
