As far as the Unit vs. the Album Band… depends on if you like the more spaced sound with fewer instruments and jazzier themes, or if you like straight ahead tight bluegrass. There’s songs that the Unit could pull off that the Album band couldn’t have, and vice versa.

I generally like the style of vocal songs DLQ does better than RSKT. I would say RSKT definitely does better on instrumental but I love good vocals so that’s what make it for me.
I’m not too much of a jazz guy so it was BGAB for me. Love that straight ahead sound much better than any jazz.
Agreed
How about something equally as hard…

I can see where DLQ could have better vocals. But I tend to like RSKT better all around. Ok I’m ready for the volley.
Stop it it’s Saturday for Pete’s sake…whoever he is
How about this??

Ok maybe that one was too easy because Young Tony could sing.
My favorite is 80’s Tony
Want something even harder…

Hey, no J.D. love?
J.D. did play for BGAB
Well Tony and Jerry did too, so the main factor is that the New South didn’t really have a fiddle player when they were with them.
I love the sound that the fiddle adds to a band that’s why I went BGAB.
- Special Consensus form (Banjo Guitar Mando Bass)
- Blue Highway form (4 + Dobro)
- Balsam Range form (4 + fiddle)
- BGAB form (all 6)

Actually the best form is if you just have 6 Justin Moseses in the band.
If only! That guy is such an insanely talented multi instrumentalist. Literally he’s one of my favourite banjoists, flatpickers, mandolin player, fiddler, or reso guitarist. Only thing I haven’t seen him do is Bass
