I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread devoted to singing.
Lately, I’ve been trying to find mixed voice… you can guess how that is going.

What’s mixed voice?
And I really enjoy singing, I think mostly bass but I might sing a little baritone I’m not sure
Mixed voice is the blending of chest voice (normal speaking voice) and head voice (like a more disconnected silly-sounding voice). Mixed voice is useful for kind of “sliding” from your chest voice to head voice… I’m pretty sure I’m a baritone voice type, but a baritone can train to sing in a tenor range.
Oh ok sounds neat.
So I am a bass singer that loves listening to crazy low smooth singers that can blow your speakers. My bass is a bit of a mix of head and chest with a bit of leaning toward chest. To bad, i can’t sing very low. Generally d or c two octaves below middle c. In the morning maybe an A but not very often.
I’m sure you already have, but have you heard Christian Davis? Probably my favorite bass singer, and I love his singing with Dailey and Vincent. I’m personally a big fan of the high lonesome (like Dan Tyminski), but I really enjoy great bass singers too.
oh Ya heard of him. Check out Home Free. Acapella country band with the meanest bass singer ever (IMHO) That’s my favorite bass singer i’ve ever heard. Watched a vid once of him blowing a speaker at an outdoor festival. Crazy guy with an awesome smooth voice.
Btw guys name is Tim Foust.
One of my favorite sung pieces:

I’m currently trying to learn proper breathing, and implement it in my singing
Its interesting that you brought up about morning, it’s my favorite time to sing cause I can make it alot lower and smoother than I normally can. I love the deeeeeep bass too. Josh turner swing low sweet chariot is one of my favorites
While talking of Bass singers we’d be remiss not to mention the late Ray Deaton…
Ray Deaton is one of my favorites for sure, I love his work with Doyle!
Some of you bass singers might find this helpful:
So, any fellow bari-tenors out there? (Yup that’s a real term)
Well, I found it… now, it’s time to strengthen it.
