Im practicing the second part of folsom prison bluesā¦ i dont have any lesson about it. Im trying to find the notes by my selfā¦ but its not so easyā¦ i think that will be my own versionā¦ not correct, but its my own thingā¦
The practice video thread š¶ - New vid added 11/8/23 - Gold Rush - Guitar
Thatās awesome! Youāre playing by ear and making it your own, Looking forward to it!
Yeah I donāt remember when I got it but Iāve been working off the tab also.
Thank you!
Thank you Iāve been working off the tab for that. Iām not quite there yet on the banjo.
Iāve been trying to learn a break for some bluegrass āstandards.ā The songs that always seem to come up at a jam. For the past few practice sessions, itās been Blue Ridge Cabin Home. I do wish Banjo Ben had a lesson on āOvercoming Banjo Face.ā
Why you think my performance vids are from the shoulders down?!
Iām taking this advice for next video!
@Shad
Sounding great! Thanks for posting! Donāt be shy nowā¦ weād love to see more! Oh, and love the pup chilling out on the couch!
Donāt worry about Banjo Face, Iām here to tell ya thereās definitely Mando Face as wellā¦ (the husband FREQUENTLY asks me whats wrong with me when I play, haha!) Usually rears itās odd face during breaks but not backup. Good thing we play backup 95% of the time !
Itās also not easy for me to post something that isnāt good enoughā¦ But here is my entry with my idea for folsom prison blues. I learn the second part by ear. it is clear to me that this does not correspond to the original, it just serves to get me further in my banjo playing if I can learn something myself without a lessonā¦ the whole thing is just an idea, but not finished yetā¦
Great job! Thatās a good looking Deering too.
@Severin
Absolutely loved your version! The whole thing sounded very good! Great job figuring parts out on your own by ear !
It definitely does!
And the faces? AWESOME, haha! Thanks for posting. Weād love to see another one if you get the chance!
