Thanks for this Archie. Well worth watching. I met Ralph Stanley in Lansing, Michigan when I still lived on my Farm in Owosso. Still have his autographed poster. Nice guy. He was fairly old when I saw him, and he mostly sang as he had a hired banjo player by that time. It appeared he had arthritis in his hands that precluded him from his 3-finger picking. When he introduced his banjo player, he joked to the audience, that he was the one that “shot him off his horse”, but Ralph never lost that high lonesome singing voice.
