The Canary Series

Very Addictive @WillCoop !

@Archie, no worries! LOL! I do like all kinds of fun music. Here’s another piano piece. It is Daniel’s personal arrangement of Come Thou Fount. No sheet music help just by ear and by feel. Happy Sunday!

@banjoboyk,

I hear a heavier element to this “Cluck Old Hen” one that I like… which is probably due to the way the guitar chord progression goes…

It makes me want to hear you guys jam some Volbeat (who occasionally uses Banjo :banjo: in their rock, by the way) into Bluegrass

Like “Let’s shake some Dust” or “Lady Pearl” from “Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies” album. :metal:

@banjoboyk, said it before, will say it again, yall have been doing a fantastic job on the canary series, and DAILY songs! I really do look fwd to what song you’ll post next! :grin::+1:t2:

@WillCoop , I like cluck old hen, there are several versions out there. You might enjoy the one by Don Julin Acoustic Trio (u can easily find it on YouTube)…

@WillCoop I have never heard of them. If they are not bluegrass, country or gospel I’ve never been exposed or try not to listen. :grin: @Simone, we are still having a good time! For the most part. It gets hard when Daniel doesn’t get home until 6:30, we eat dinner and do dishes and by then it’s 8pm. Those have been scramble nights but hey, why break the streak when we are over 30?! Here’s today’s. It was actually warm enough to play outside! So any canaries heard are wild…

Great job! Funny that you posted that song - my brother Timothy and I have been working on that same song as a banjo/guitar duet and we recently took a video; we’re doing almost the same thing you guys are! :slight_smile: It’s a fun tune. Keep it up!

@Simone,

I looked Don Julin up on Spotify - although he had 4 albums as a solo artist. Then, I saw he did an album with Michigan’s own… BILLY STRINGS…

From the same album, Soldier’s Joy is fantastic! Check this out. .

By the way, his song titles across his 4 albums are pretty colorful, including: Progress?, 105 Year-old Cat, You Make My Skin Crawl, No Name Bb(flat) Blues, and 4th Annual Unicycle Juggler’s Convention. :face_with_hand_over_mouth::smile::joy:

I will check out the YouTube! :+1:

@banjoboyk,

Yeah… I’m guilty that Volbeat is definitely NOT Bluegrass… but they do have some songs that could be made INTO some cool little Bluegrass arrangements!

I didn’t mean to influence you away from the genre, Kaleb. It was just a spark of a thought to the guitar. On the contrary, maybe expand the bluegrass limits a bit :wink::facepunch:

Keep ‘em comin’, my friend.

With 141 replies, it may be time for a new thread soon? :smirk:

Well, no influencing here. I just don’t listen to other genres! :rofl: I did like “Let’s Shake Some Dust” I could see doing that one. The other one I didn’t make it very far in… I can start a new thread with today’s song. I’ll call it “The Canary Series Part 2”. :grin:

Unless the thread starts acting up due to amount of video content there’s no need to start another thread unless the OP really wants to.

Thanks for the advice but I just suggested for ease of scrolling and listening…:musical_note::notes:

Of course, to @banjoboyk’s level of comfort… :banjo:
