to @BanjoBen 's Forum. Great Question. TEF Files are a special type of TAB Tablature. You need a piece of software to open, view, edit playback and listen yes LISTEN to the TEF TAB File.
To do this you’ll need the FREE TefView or the PAID TablEdit version. If you want to create or edit TEF files you’ll need TablEdit.

IMHO, TEF files are useful tools to play along with when learning a new song. Beyond that lies a learning curve, so I won’t go there.
