Tarnish on the banjo

Anyone here have issues with tarnish on their banjo metal parts (nickel not gold)? I see Ben with a banjo and they all look so nice and purty, but do they ever get tarnished? If so, how to clean it off?

The good news is the tarnish cleans easily. There are a number of products on the market to clean, buff & generally shine up your banjo.

The bad news is you pretty much have to disassemble your banjo to get into all the nooks & crannies.
I learned recently that Earl would change his banjo head twice a year, even the plastic ones. When he changed heads, he gave his banjo a thorough cleaning.

Good luck with your spring cleaning! I expect to undertake a similar project very soon.
