Tapachula durante Thanksgiving

I just arrived in the far south city of Tapachula, Mexico, on the border with Guatemala. I’m here for a week leading ~120 pastors & church leaders through a theology course that teaches hermeneutics, Scripture genres, & a biblical worldview. When the trip came up earlier this year I couldn’t imagine being gone not only over Thanksgiving, but also during the busiest week of the year for my small business.

BUT, I have the best family and Banjo Ben team surrounding & supporting me! They’ve worked really hard (and continue to work) to allow me to concentrate on the task at hand and make this important trip possible.

My team & I will lead 20 sessions during the weeknights & during the day Saturday. We have a translator, but I’m attempting to do much of the teaching in Spanish. Pray for my brain and the ears of the hearers :joy:

Bendeciones y buena suerte! Jesus te ama!

That’s all I got unless you want me to order food or ask where the library is.

“Por lo tanto, ve y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo.”

If that means what I think it means, your days are going to be full!

I taught two lectures last night solely in Spanish! Now, to be clear, I had manuscripted/translated beforehand and taught from it but also did some extemporaneous explanation as a I went. What a great experience.

And you’ll never know what you said wrong… unless you see people start laughing!

Sounds like fun, great job, and prayers for the rest of the week!
