TablEdit Bend Value?

TablEdit Bend Value ?

How do I add a value to a Bend in TablEdit. When I select a Simple Bend it inserts a ? I would like to change that to 1/4 and 1/2 but can’t see an option to make that change

So I figured out how to change the value of a simple bend using the Shift + to bend the arrow down or press - to bend the arrow up which gives me 1/2 but NOT 1/4 surely someone knows how to do this!

You have to insert a note after the bend that you want to bend up to, and make it ppp so it doesn’t show up in the tab. It’s kind of a weird way to do it and I’ve never liked it. I’ll see if I can screenshot you an example here.

Hi @Michael_Mark I used the bend option and then the Shift + or just the - key to change the value to 1/2 or Whole note but it doesn’t give me the !/4 which I see on most TABs. I have seen TABs written the way you describe.

ppp?

Ohh, my bad. I was talking about just doing a fret bend. No, I’ve never done a 1/4 note bend in TablEdit… honestly don’t know if it can. You can in Guitar Pro though.

ppp is the quietest dynamic marking, and you have to use it writing bends in TablEdit to denote which “fret” you’re bending up to— making it ppp makes it not show up in the printed tab, which would confuse people and make them think it’s an actual note.

The bending system is probably the #1 thing I dislike about TablEdit. It doesn’t just have a simple button like Guitar Pro that lets you mark a note as bent up or prebent and bent down. This is a headache because for example, it makes this prebent note look like you’re actually supposed to fret it at the 6th fret:

46%E2%80%AFPM

So this is the example I have. It’s not been created in TablEdit but I am sure I have come across TEF Files that have the 1/4 notes displayed like this.

bend

Trying to recreate as a TEF File note the 1/2

Bend2

Opps That is weird I just tried to change the value using the + & - functions and it altered the note value to 9 & 11. The mystery deepens

Hi @Michael_Mark so I figured it out. Need to use the CHOKE option and not the BEND to get the 1/4 value. Crazy I know.
