I’m looking for some tips that would help me to improve my strumming on the mandolin. I’ve played the guitar but was never taught to use a pick, so learning to strum the mandolin with a pick has been a challenge for me. So far I’ve focused on the solos, scales and techniques but really need to work on the rhythm. I have listened to Ben’s lessons on the mandolin rhythm. Anyway, any suggestions would be helpful.

Cool! Did you watch this? https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/nick-dumas-rhythm-chop-techniques-mandolin-intermediate
I saw this the other day, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzLpu0z1wPc
Check out this lesson on basic strumming https://banjobenclark.com/lessons/open-chords-g-c-d-mandolin-beginner
I appreciate the help. I listened to all the videos. I enjoyed hearing what Nick had to say as well as the Sam Bush video. And I listened to the basic strumming patterns on the G,C,D lesson. I also went back to basics and listened to the pick hand foundations. Most of the issue I have is with the upstroke, so I guess it will be patience and practice.
Always good to post a video Annie, lets @BanjoBen see where your at and it gives him the opportunity to post tips which often helps others.
