Has anyone purchased on from the General Store and/or play?

I am fascinated with the sound… as well as the Blues… like Tyler Bryant.

Does anyone have any brands of instruments to buy (as a starter) and/or artists to recommend?

Depending on how much you want to spend, I would most definitely recommend the Beard Deco Phonic line as your first and very possibly only double. You can’t beat the craftsmanship and sound for the price. I loved my Deco 57.

Yep, and the Recording King Phil Leadbetter is awesome for the money, too.
